About the role
We are recruiting an Electrician to join our Onward Repairs team with a specific responsibility to work with our Damp and Mould team focusing on the improvement to properties across the North West of England.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business to deliver property maintenance services, undertaking repair activities predominantly within customer’s homes, but also voids.
The purpose of the role is to deliver Electrical repairs and tests in line with all group standards and key performance indicators. Ensuring high standards are consistently met together with observing all legal, statutory and regulatory requirements while undertaking repair activities within customer’s homes, empty properties and for other clients as required.
Please note that a full UK driving license is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery
In line with Onward Repairs specification or approved best practice, assess, coordinate and undertake the most cost effective repair solution ensuring value for money. Organising materials, providing detailed information, effectively communicating with customers other stakeholders and colleagues to deliver a high quality service. Ensure adequate store of materials are available and maintained, including van based stock, in order to undertake the required repair.
Customer Service
To provide excellent customer service whilst ensuring prompt work of the required standard.
Liaison and technical advice
Liaise with clients, customers and colleagues regarding access, safe working practices, and assessment of repairs requirements and progress of repairs.
Quality
Ensure all work is delivered to a high standard.
Records
To complete jobs on PDA’s and maintain other records as required including access details, materials used, job progression and follow on information.
Health and Safety
Undertake work activities in line with all health and safety requirements demonstrating a sound working knowledge of key legislative health and safety information and safe working practices. Assisting the promotion of Health & Safety.
Work equipment
Operation of light machinery, plant and powered hand tools in accordance with recognised safety procedures. To be responsible for the safe use and daily maintenance of allocated Company vehicles.
Skills/Experience
Essential
- Sound knowledge of Electrical components and fittings.
- Experience of carrying out Electrical servicing and repairs.
- Experience of working in a customer focused service.
- Proven ability to deliver a quality customer centred repairs service.
- Experience of working in a target driven environment.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations, regulation and ACOPS relevant to the post and associated tasks undertaken within it, in line with HASAWA 1974.
Desirable
- Experience of PV and ASHP systems and working within a commercial and domestic property maintenance environment.
- Experience of delivering services within the social housing sector.
- Experience of using PDA technology (hand held/mobile working technology).
Qualifications
Essential
- Qualified to City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 (recognised Electrical trade qualification).
- Code of Practice for Electrical Safety or similar electrical qualification for Fixed Electrical Equipment and Portable Appliance Testing regimes.
- Appropriate CSCS card.
- Qualified to 2391 (Testing & Inspection) or equivalent qualification.
Desirable
- Hold relevant health & safety qualifications which relate to the sector.
- Asbestos awareness training.
- Relevant power tool, manual handling training.
- Appropriate and current training in COSHH & PPE.
- Access equipment and working at height training e.g. mobile work platforms.
