About the role
We are looking for a Cleaning Operative to be based on site at our Birch Lea site in Hattersley, Tameside. This is a part-time role, with 20 hours required across the week (working 5 days, 10am-2pm). You may also be required to work out of hours occasionally when required.
The purpose of the role is to provide high standards of cleanliness to communal areas of our Birch Lea Park Housing with Care development at the heart of Hattersley in Tameside. The site features 91 modern apartments alongside a range of helpful on-site services, including tailored care packages for those who need them.
Birch Lea Park provides residents with a home they can take pride in—combining independent living with access to amenities and social opportunities, all under one roof. As part of our cleaning team, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the environment remains welcoming, hygienic, and well-maintained for everyone who lives and works there.
What we require?
Essential
- Experience of delivering cleaning services to a variety of customers.
- Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team, acting on instruction as required.
- Able to use different cleaning methods and equipment, for example, mopping, dusting, wiping, and buffing.
- Able to follow procedures to meet high standards with the ability to prioritise tasks to complete them on time.
- Be willing to cover and work in various areas within and covering different duties as requested.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Good customer service skills.
- Good communication skills – written and verbal.
- The ability to follow procedures and provide performance data of operations.
Desirable:
- Use of electronic equipment e.g., Smart phone/iPad
- Experience of carrying out facilities checks such as Water testing and Alarm testing.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Knowledge of hygiene regulations.
- Knowledge of COSSH regulations.
